Community Guidelines & Camp Rules
The "Good Pagan" Guide
o Access to the site is the Friday noon, departing from the site by Monday noon. There are no exceptions.
o No pets (except identifiable guide and assistance dogs) without express permission. We also do not consider it fair on roaming pets eg. cats / dogs, to be locked in their owner's vans for the duration.
o Photographs or movies of campers should not be taken without permission of everyone in the frame. Please be especially aware of anyone in the background and because it is impossible to gain permission from everyone that might be "in shot" around the hearth fire photography and/or recording will not be allowed. Unauthorised films/photographs/cameras may be confiscated or recycled by Dagda.
o No illegal substances will be tolerated. The Disorganisers/Dagda stewards reserve the right to eject abusers from the site without discussion or appeal. Where required Police will be involved.
o Adult responsible consumption of alcohol is expected. Oakleaf Camp does not endorse consumption of alcohol by the legally under-age.o There is but one central fire (which is sacred) and one castle fire (which is Dagda!). All personal cooking must be done off the ground and all waste removed from site by the user - this includes ashes, BBQ coals, left over wood etc.
o The ‘Firekeeper’ has the final word on the management of the hearth fire and the woodpile. No-one should add wood to the hearth fire unless the Firekeeper agrees. Dangerous behaviour, such as climbing onto the fire, kicking the lit logs, or disregarding the Firekeeper's instruction will not be tolerated. Any person behaving in such a way will be escorted from the hearth fire by the Dagda.
o There should be no undue noise after the hour of 11:00pm. All drumming, except for the sweat lodge, and other noisy activities must cease at that time. Sound travels a long way and Oakleaf Camp likes to be considerate of all dwellings and villages neighbouring the site.
o No amplified music, stereos or car radios etc. at any time.
o Individual fossil fuelled generators will not be allowed due to noise consideration. Personal power generation for refrigeration, etc, therefore needs to be of silent means, eg. battery, solar panel, wind turbine, fuel-cell, etc. All power generation should be non-polluting and undertaken within manufacturers and health and safety recommendations.
Exception will be granted for on-site Caterers; however, times of generator operation must be with agreement of Oakleaf Camp and cease at noise curfew (11:00pm).
o Please note that this is a clothing optional camp. This is down to personal choice so be aware that there may be some nudity, mainly around the sweat lodge, or just by those who wish to get closer to Nature. You have been fore-warned!
o All folk attending camp do so at their own risk. Beyond usual liabilities Oakleaf Camp accepts no responsibility for loss and/or damage to persons or their belongings.
o Follow the Country Code.
o Children are the responsibility of parents and/or legal guardians at all times. The site includes steep gradients, animal holes, wire fences, flowing water and other hazards associated with the countryside. There may also be hot or sharp objects in use. Please keep track of your children, they are the future.
o Oakleaf Camp reserves the right to refuse entry to, or escort from, the camp site any person failing to observe these guidelines.
o Purchase of a ticket implies acceptance and compliance with these guidelines.
o Dagda's word is final !!!
